FREE – Los Charly’s Orchestra (Aka Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel) Feat. Heidi Vogel – Out: Aug 28t
Living in a time where the values of humanity seem to be vanishing into a wave of confusing media of fear, LCO (Aka Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel) in collaboration with singer: Heidi Vogel come up with a message of hope, respect, soul togetherness, peace and love for all humanity as one.
As Marvin Gaye did Inner City Blues on the times of the civil rights movement, LCO delivers today’s message as a grain of sand to contribute into the re-construction of a better world for all of us and generations to come.
A big Motown sound with a modern Soul twist that captures the mood of the times yesterday, today & tomorrow.
The very talented singer/songwriter Heidi Vogel has opened for the likes of Erykah Badu, performed at Montreux Jazz festival for Quincy Jones.
She has also performed/recorded with: Isaac Hayes, Bobby Mcferrin & The Cinematic Orchestra & now with Los Charly’s Orchestra on this timeless track that defines an era.
Music is a great healer and certainly the best cure for the soul.
With love LCO.

Electropical Pt.3 (Album sampler) – Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel
The Afro-Latin connections of Venezuela’s coastal region meet London based producers Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel, for the 3rd edition of their latest musical venture: Electropical.
Jorge travels to Bolivar Film Studios – Caracas / Venezuela for a couple of days of musical experimentation & recordings, accompanied by some of the heaviest players in town, including no other than Mr Spiteri himself, J Pulia Liendo (Ex Pianist of Dimension Latina), and the emblematic Afro-Latin Drum ensemble: Grupo Madera, (between others) for the making of the tunes: “San Juan & Electropical”.
As a perfect complement, the studio work gets continued back in London at Imagenes Recordings batcave, for the making of the Afro-Funky-Jazz conveyor of: “Spacial Paradise”, plus an updated mix of their classic rework of “Sexmachina”.
Meanwhile ongoing collaborator / remixer Pete Herbert joins the Tropical fest delivering another of his fingerlicking Balearic nuggets, infused with the Colombian roots flava of the Andean folk anthem: “Fruta Fresca” (previously re-visioned by Juan & Jorge for the first edition of this project and now re-optimized for club purposes by Mr PH).
Last but not least, here it comes the unexpected but very well suited collaboration of James Rod meets Juan & Jorge, with the epic club version of “Spacial Paradise”. Proto-Disco-House and the deepness of the Afrolatino spirit conjuring a magical spell into the farthest dimensions of musical imagination.

Electropical by Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel (Album Sampler)
Infusing tropical vibes and electronic grooves to reflect the vivid ever evolving Latin American soundscape is the fresh musical excursion ‘Electropical’ as synthesized by London based producers, Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel. ‘Electropical’ – one word, one sound that distills a melting pot of authentic Latin anthems, jazzy grooves, disco infused songs and Balearic sounds all processed in HD for an immersive experience which explores the colorful influences of the Caribbean, vast Amazonian dimensions and beyond. Its heart-warming journey is a highly seductive experience that further enhances the mood with repeated play.
‘Electropical’ sees Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel (best known for their Los Charlys Orchestra albums and tracks) re-imagine some of the most emblematic tracks from the Latin music world including ‘‘Manduco’ and ‘Fruta Fresca’ as well unveiling new material including an awesome jazzy Latin Disco version of the millennial summer anthem ‘Pasilda’. Playful sounds and organic grooves are carefully balanced with a subtle ‘Electropical’ touch to forge a natural expression of fusion – a perspective that has characterized the work of Juan & Jorge for more than a decade now.
From the impressive folk-inspired Todd Terje favorite, ‘Cumbanchero’ (included on his Radio 1 Essential Mix) to the raw percussive style of ‘Tambor Urbano’ ‘Electropical’ elegantly weaves into its textures the primal drums, rippling jazz guitar, undulating bass and unique sounds such as vibraphone, Peruvian pan flute and congas conjuring the roots of Latin music in ‘Electropical’ style. This unique sonic landscape forges an intimate connection.
Flag-bearers for contemporary Latin-infused sounds London/Venezuelan production duo, Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel, celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2017 by joining forces with the soul legend, Omar on ‘It’s So/History’ alongside classic cuts such as ‘All Around The World’, ‘Everlasting Love’ & ‘Sunshine’.
“The best stuff I’ve heard this year so far, very well elaborated, so fresh & sophisticated. It fits perfectly the Balearic scene. On my set for this summer ahead 100%!”
