London/Venezuela production duo Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel aka Los Charly’s Orchestra take influences from Salsoul, Fania, Donna Summer, Cerrone, Herbie Hancock and even Jamiroquay and blend them with their very unique style of production in order to deliver their latest anthem of Neo Latin Disco.
After a few months of experimentation across different sounds Los Charly’s are back into their main arena with an outstanding new single entitle Everlasting Love.
Those guys were first known by their initial Disco/Funk period and more recently by their infectious Latin/Funk sound, which has been buzzing all around the place for the past couple of years.
This new single expresses a cross road in between the two periods of LCO bringing up a new perspective for the future of this outfit.

Juan Laya, Jorge Montiel & their infamous band Los Charly’s Orchestra appears once again on the Neo Latin arena with a monster rework of Jhonny Colon’s masterpiece.
Merecumbe became a landmark of the NY Salsa landscape of the 70’s and is now been re-issued on a Latin Disco style that will stamp the forthcoming generations to come.
Fania & Salsoul meets electronic instrumentation for a deep Latin House version which comes on the flip side as contrast to the main Disco version.
The spirit of the South American revolution flies across the Atlantic crossing through Europe, all the way through Asia & Australia with this outstanding rework of the Nuyorican classic “Merecumbe”.

Bio
Having worked alongside producers & DJ’s of the calibre of Jose Padilla (Cafe Del Mar), Atjazz, The Reflex, Dave Lee & John Morales, in between others, Jorge Montiel has develop an eclectic vision of DJing as well as production that moves across a broad spectrum of global sounds ranging from from his signature Soulful-Disco (LCO) vibes to Tropicalia, Neo Latin Jazz, Balearica, Electronica and beyond.
He is also the Co-Founder of the infamous band Los Charly’s Orchestra as well as other projects such as Funky Magnetic and his latest venture: Electropical.
Through the years J. Montiel has definitively established his reputation as one of the main characters of his scene in his base city: London, as well as the rest of the world. His productions and releases have been leading the charts of independent music around the world for almost decade and yet continue to expand today faster than ever before, due to the ever innovative and forward thinking vision of his work.
From the epic Pete Tong’s show on Radio 1 (BBC) to the most independent / underground shows, his music and productions are constantly supported by some of the most influential personalities, and most recently having some of his tunes released in labels of the calibre of Sony Music, Universal & Defected have strengthen his position even further as one of the leaders of his field.
Born in Venezuela, he started his career as a music entrepreneur at the age of 18 when he started his sound system – The Smoke Brothers. The sound system quickly became one of the most established of Caracas – Venezuela, incorporating a weekly Radio program on Hot 94.1 FM plus a residency on two of the main nocturnal spots of Caracas.
By the end of the year 1999 Jorge moved to London UK following his interest in music business & production.
Having finished his Audio Engineering studies in London UK, J. Montiel started his record company: Imagenes Recordings with his old friend and business partner Juan Laya. Ever since Jorge has been forging a practical expression of his musical philosophy as a DJ and a producer.
Jorge is a regular DJ at some of the best London spots and he has been an important piece on the musical development of venues such as Annabel’s, Coya & The Arts Club through his various residencies at different defining periods.
Internationally: Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai, Bali & Ibiza are some of the destinations where J. Montiel has been spreading his musical motto over the past years, and still continues defusing his musical philosophy around the world.
